This is our final company logo that we will use in our opening sequence, but we have made larger and more developed version of this logo that is being displayed on our twitter page that we could use in the opening sequence.
We used bullet holes and silver to imply to the audience that we are producing a crime thriller, as these aspects have the connotations of weapons and violence.

In order to conduct our filming efficiently we had to ensure that we filmed on days and at times that were most suitable to the actresses; the time of day and the location of our filming site. So Izzie and I talked to each other on messenger to sort out the timing and days that we could film at the end of November and at the beginning of December. We did not need to conduct a chat with the actresses , as Izzie lives with them(Becci and Jessica Wensley) and could pass on the information to me whilst we discussed our filming times at school. Our evidence for organisation is shown in the screen shot below: As Samantha stated above, we didn't have to use Facebook messenger or any other kind of messaging app to contact the other actors as I live in the same house with them and location - it would've been weird if I had contacted them via this.
Below is a schedule I made, of the times Jess, Becci, Samantha and myself could do, so that it becomes easier when trying to figure out who is free when and where: This is our shot list that we will be using during filming to guide us on what scenes to shoot, allowing us to ensure that we shoot all the necessary scenes to be able to edit our opening sequence fully.
Our shot list consists of a description about what will be happening in the shot and who will be acting each character. Additionally we have listed the location each shot is taken in, allowing us to plan ahead to ensure that that room is available for our use. This is the tweet I uploaded onto the 'Argentum Productions' Twitter Account. I thought that this would be a good may to make it look like it is an actual film company and to ask the world what they think of the concept.
We didn't get any feedback except from the one retweet, but that was me. I retweeted it because I also thought that by putting this on my twitter - having more followers will make people read it. Unfortunately no-one commented or liked it. But we did it so that we could see how other major film companies build up their target audience and to see how much feedback we get. Ruby: Dorothy costume (from Wizard of Oz), little white socks, hair in two plaits
Mother: Jeans, top, cardigan, socks and blood seeping through clothes Father: Shirt, blazer, jeans, socks and blood seeping through clothes Murderer: Balaclava, black jeans, black hoodie, burgundy t-shirt, black shoes and black gloves During the planning of our opening sequence we have had to think of the hazards we will possibly be faced with and what we will have to do to prevent them from happening.
We were asked to do a risk assessment for each location we are using, however we are only using one location(Izzie's house) so we have done one risk assessment in total. We only had a few ideas to film our opening sequence in but was running out of time so we chose the easier option of going with my house as we know the location and it would require no documentation so sign for. Some of our other ideas were to use The Great Park or The Wreck however these were deemed unsuitable as you can't stop the public from using these parks. With it getting darker at around 3:50ish we chose to film around 4 because we felt that this would mean that we would have more time to get anything we wanted to do within a longer time period.
This is the main bedroom in which we will use to show what the parents looked like when they were murdered and to also give the homely atmosphere. This is suitable to use because my mum doesn't come back from work until around 4:00ish so we can do any scenes we need to do without her being in the way. These areas of the house are being used for the hand-held shot and the wide shot. They are somewhat suitable to film in however with this hallway being the main one from the upper level and ground floor rooms to the kitchen, it can be a hassle trying to get people to stay in one room (especially if you have 3 generations of people living in the same house).
This is our animatic storyboard that was created using garage band(for the backing track) and Final Cut Express to cut all of the storyboard pictures together in a sequence. This has given us an idea of what our opening sequence should look like, and what sort of music we want to include. However this is the first time we have used Garage Band so we were experimenting with this backing track. So in our opening sequence we will ensure that our non diegetic music will provide a greater sense of tension, suspense and really engage the audience. |
