For our thriller opening sequence we wanted the font to be exact so that people are able to recognise the theme and narrative. For our thriller opening 'One for the road' we decided on the font 'Blair Mdl TC TT'. As our film is based on being on the road we wanted the 'Road' to stand out, therefore making the font slighty larger than the other words makes it the focal point. The colour was kept simple with light grey however we decided this did not suit with the remaining credits which are dark red. The connotations for light grey meant calm and relaxed which was a juxtaposition to the powerful colour red. Because the first font did not match I then went on researching for a font which would most likely suit our narrative. The genre of our film is a crime/thriller, neo-noir style film based on the road therefore we wanted to make it clear to our target audience through using the correct font.

The font i am going to use for our thriller production is 'Apple Chancery Style'. The reason for wanting to use this particular style of font is because researching into neo-noir films such as 'Drive(2011)' and 'The Hot Spot(1990)', the fonts would usually suit the story lines which were usually sold to their target audience via the film poster. The font would used in films would be edgy yet simplistic, with the colour of them connoting some sort of power, danger, love and suspicion.
In the font used is Mistral. The stroke has an informal graphic quality similar to brush and ink. The lower-case letters are carefully designed to connect on a line to an extent unusual in script fonts. The font was also used in the film 'Flash Dance (1984)'. As we all live far from one another i have created a way of communication for the group to share our ideas when out of school or any concerns we may have with our production.
Since our production is going to be filmed out of school we each have taken a responsibility for each thing such as props, equipment and shot list. Researching on various films with the same genre as our opening sequence has given me an idea of the style of fonts i want to use for the title and credits throughout our production. Me and my team member agreed on going with a 60's neo-noir style production, therefore i have to make sure the correct effects were added in. Using 'Final Cut Pro Express' mean i was able to make freeze frames and effects to the single shots in order to make it to suit how we both want it. The image below shows the various amounts of effects i can use in our production. Throughout the process of filming the thriller opening sequence my responsibility was the editing.
