Our Final Production Plan is based on an abusive marriage where the husband tortures his wife, physically and mentally, locking her in a basement. Our opening sequence begins with Victoria (the wife) quickly gathering necessities and then hastily running from the house into a forest. However, she did not escape very far due to the capture of her by her husband. We then switch to the basement where she is forced to stay. The audience then see her reminiscing via old photographs whilst having frequent flashbacks of memories before marriage. Interrupting the last flashback, we find the husband ready to abuse his wife again.
Good Aspects: - We have a clear storyline for the opening sequence that is effective because it is easy to follow and understand. - This scene also give the also a clear understanding of what the film will contain however also giving it potential to have a good or bad outcome. - The music is intense and full of tension so the audience knows clearly that the genre of this film is Thriller-Horror. -Not expensive as we have all the props and costumes we are going to use. Bad Aspects: - The sequence will be quite time consuming as we need to film it in many separate locations and we each have other commitments. - Editing may not be like the way we imagined as there are many flashbacks which can be hard to edit in. - We rushed the planning, changing the storyline several times as we ran out of time and needed to start filming therefore we believe we could have made the plot more simplistic and polished.

Clothing:
Girl -casual clothing -old/dirty -white dress Boy -Blazer/shirt -Casual clothing Friends -Casual clothing Props: - Bags - Food - Ring - Lighter - Pictures - Handcuffs/Rope This location was used for the wedding ceremony, we used the upper level to convey that their relationship is moving up as well as showing that the couple are the main focus of this event. This location is a typical place for a dinner date however, we were unable to have a single table for the couple which defeats the stereotypical view of a date.
In our opening sequence we decided not to use a script as we are focusing more on the tension and intensity of the music. We will only be improvising in certain sections for example when the girl screams 'NO' or when the couple are mumbling their vows, however the script is insignificant to the music.
The findings of the survey has not affected our idea of our production that much. However, the type of actors has in the sense that we were originally going to have a male dominated opening yet our survey suggested that we should of have more female dominated which we have agreed with to meet the audience's wish.
Lionsgate is a film production company that has produced some of the best horror films in this decade and therefore would be a suitable institution for our film - 'Don't Look Back.' The first major box office success was American Psycho in 2000 which began a trend of producing and distributing film too controversial for the major American studios. Other popular films include SAW, Gods & Monsters and The Michael Moore documentary, Fahrenheit 911 which all became the studio's highest grossing film. |
