This was an original screenshot of our previous production however the theme has now changed. However we used final cut pro to help us with the sound and the picture details, e.g, lighting, camera shots, when to fit the sound with the film. Before we brainstormed our ideas for the opening sequence, we talked about what important technology will be useful to our production. Tanya had suggested we should use her camera for filming. When we compared Tanya's camera to one of the school cameras, the rest of the group agreed that Tanya's camera was better as the picture was more clearer and it was much easier to use for filming. Our group also agreed that we should use a tripod to help level the camera when filming. This was a major improvement to our production as our previous film pieces were not steady and it looked very messy. When using the tripod, it had helped us to include certain angles, e.g, slow-pan wide shot, close up, medium shot and when we analysed the angles, we believed the angles had helped us create an erie at atmosphere (as the genre to our sequence was horror). As there were only 2 technological items used in our production, it was still a huge part for filming. As a group we have used different variety of equipment and software whilst creating our opening sequence. Including: ( filming ) Tripod Canon Camera 5x10 (Editing) Final Cut Express (software) Mac computer (Sound) Garage Band Voice ( dialogue) Here is a screenshot of the garage band we used to help is create our sountrack. We mainly picked violins and piano as our choice of music as it made the opening sequence very sinister.
We used the approach of viral marketing, via Twitter. Twitter is a popular global social networking service that enables users read and write short tweets. As conglomerates use these approach of advertisement, we crated a Twitter page to advertise our film 'Coercion'.
We all came together to think of names that could relate to our horror-thriller film. Our theme was jealousy so we decided to look up synonyms to make our film title more eye-catching and to attract the audience:
We then started to think of titles that were foreign to make it sound more ominous.
We asked a few students if any of the names sounded interesting. Their responses were helpful as they didn't like the second half of the titles that were in different languages and they felt that the titles should have a meaning with our opening sequence. With 'New Line cinema' as a famous film production company where it produces a lot of horror films, we decided that this film institution would be a good example for them to produce our film.
We had a discussion together coming up with ideas for our opening sequence and brainstormed and inputing all our ideas together. This was a huge success because it really helped, as everyone suggested really good ideas for our sequence and we took most of them into account for our final production sequence.
This is our brainstorm Recently we have been discussing our opening sequence on Whats App as a group. After analysing some film posters, we decided that it would be a good idea to create a film poster as it would give us an insight into the horror - thriller genre that we focused on before we actually began our opening sequence. |
