How does your task represent particular social groups? In our opening scene, we have included two characters of different ages but the same ethnicity and gender. The main character is a male character of twenty two where he experiences flash backs of his childhood, making the change in age necessary but essential for the ethnicity and gender to remain the same. This mostly links to a target audience of 15-25 years olds where they can relate to the main character’s actions and attitudes. The two different social groups are clearly very different, represented by costume and behaviour.
For our opening scene, we used GarageBand to compose and construct various music pieces that would suggest themes of a thriller and add a suspenseful build up. Through developing the piece, we've often changed the music to match the scene more closely.
We decided to overlay the credits over our piece. We kept the font quite plain and simple, without any effects, and placed it in the corner of the screen. We decided to do this because although we wanted the audience to notice the credits, we didn't want them to be too distracting, and keep them from concentrating on what was happening in the opening sequence. |
